The first two days

Lash extension aftercare is most commonly discussed as a first-48-hours rule, but the idea is simple: protect the adhesive bond while the set settles, then keep the lashes clean and free-moving.

Avoid steam, heavy moisture, saunas, oil-rich skincare around the eye, mascara, and rubbing. Sleep carefully if you can, especially on the first night.

Cleansing is not optional

Some clients avoid washing lash extensions because they are afraid of losing them. In reality, clean lashes usually retain better than lashes coated in oil, makeup, and debris.

Use a lash-safe cleanser and a soft brush once your technician says normal cleansing can resume. Rinse, pat dry, and brush gently when dry.

Do not pick or twist

Picking at extensions can pull natural lashes before they are ready to shed. Twisting or rubbing can also cause fans to close, cross, or sit uncomfortably.

If a lash feels irritating, contact your technician. Discomfort is a reason to check the work, not to remove it yourself.

Plan infills

Natural lashes shed every day, so extensions shed with them. Infills are part of wearing lashes well. Most clients need them every two to three weeks, depending on growth cycle and aftercare.

Waiting too long can mean the set needs more correction than infill. A refined lash line is maintained, not rescued.
